The Conference

The Portuguese Society for Humane Education (SPEdH) is proud to present the first International Conference of Alternatives to Animal Experimentation, to be held in the Fernando Lopes-Graça Auditorium, at the Fórum Municipal Romeu Correia, in Almada, 26th and 27th of January, 2013.

The aim of this Conference is to promote the debate and sharing of information regarding the 3R's policies on animal use, highlighting the replacement of animal models for suitable and ethical alternatives, such as in vitro and in silico models, as well as alternative experimental designs.

The program will include keynotes sessions by Professor Emeritus Marc Bekoff and Professor Horst Spielmann, M.D., state of the art lectures, and a poster session.

We look forward to seeing you in Almada and we will work hard to offer you an excellent scientific programme and a friendly atmosphere.

The New England Anti Vivisection Society is offering 13 entrances to the 1st International Conference of Alternatives to Animal Experimentation in Almada, Portugal, to students committed to the Animal Protection and aiming to pursue a career in alternatives to animal experimentation, testing and use in education or training. The call is open until December 31th. Applicants must send their CV, motivation letter and student certification to info.spedh@gmail.com

 

The results will be announced by January 15th via e-mail. If you are already registered for the conference but would like to apply, please send your registration form along with the rest of the documentation and if you are selected you will be reimbursed at the conference desk.
